Hello ROSCO:

Some time ago you were so kind sending me a package with many Resolux filter gels. Although I have been active in photography for more than 20 years, I am now teaching at Mount College in Newton Massachusetts. ID 218 Color and Lighting Design is one of the courses I run once a year. In this course we built in class a luminaire.

Due to our limited resources (tools and $$) the design had to be simple. Two acrylic sheets were used to sandwich various gels from Roscolux. I incorporated a big LED lamp, the PAR38,manufactured by TW Lighting, in the design of this luminaire.The lamp was then positioned about 4 feet above the acrylic sheets. You can see the final effect on the two pics which I am attaching to this e-mail.

Nevertheless, I do very much appreciate your interest to support me with samples of your products.

I have envisioned to use instead of the square acrylic sheets disks which complement the hot spot diameter of the lamp. The color and density of the filters can be varied. In addition, the PAR 38 will allow dimming. One lamp might be suited as a pendant over a dining table. I also thought of a big multiple lamp structure, consisting of 5 to 7 individual light fixtures (as shown in the attachments) that are part of a giant mobile (Calder style). Such a device can be used a major lighting focal point for large lobbies.

I know this might be an odd use of your products, but the lamp - in conjuction with your gels - produces a visual magic!
